In a move that will surprise precisely no-one, Sami Guediri earns a first team contract after Brad Smith tore his ACL in the game against Philadelphia Union.
The contract is through to the rest of the season with options for both 2023 & 2024. Below is what the club have had to say about the deal.
Sami has been training with us regularly since preseason and has shown his value and quality in various aspects of play. We’re pleased to be able to add him to the roster at a pivotal point in the season and look forward to having him available for the rest of the year.Lucy Rushton, D.C. United General Manager
Sami is another testament to the success of the Pathway 2 Pro Program from Loudoun United to the D.C. United First Team. Sami has worked hard since preseason to achieve this and his performances at Loudoun United and while on loan with D.C. United for the last two games have earned him this permanent transfer into MLS. We wish him luck.Stewart Mairs, Loudoun United General Manager
