DC United have signed Argentine Federico Higuain (brother of Gonzalo) to a deal which sees him become a player/player development coach.
“Federico has consistently been one of the best attacking players in the league since 2012,” Dave Kasper, D.C. United General Manager and VP of Soccer Operations, said. “He has been a consistent goalscorer and creator on the field and we are looking forward to incorporating his MLS experience to bolster our roster this season.”

In his eight seasons at Columbus Crew, he managed to score 55 goals and record 63 assists in his 193 regular season appearances. A solid signing and a much needed player with bags of experience up top. Joining the likes of Asad, Flores, Arriola (injured), Segura, Boateng and Kamara, he will provide great competition alongside the likes of Erik Sorga.
